No butter? No problem. These fluffy drop biscuits are made butter-free using just flour, milk, baking powder, and a little olive oil.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 TBSP baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm whole milk
  • 2 TBSP olive oil



DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt then stir in the milk and oil until well combined.
  3. Drop mounds of the batter, roughly 1/4-cup in size, spread out onto a baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 14 to 16 minutes or until lightly browned.
  5. Take the biscuits out of the oven and scoot a thin spatula underneath the biscuits to remove them from the baking sheet.

Can I use 2% milk instead?

I've never tried this recipe with 2% milk, but I'm pretty sure it would work fine.

This was much better than expected!

Using a stick of butter for 8 biscuits was crazy.. 2T olive oil vs 8T butter made sense both healthwise and financially... and works just as good for me.

If you want to make this recipe vegan, use almond milk in place of whole milk.The biscuits are still delicious, both ways !
